Red Cross celebrates new office

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

The American Red Cross has a new Fayette County office. To celebrate its new home at 1B Washington St. in Hopwood and to share information about the wide array of resources and services the Red Cross provides to the people of Fayette County, the organization will host a free open house event at its new office from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The Red Cross said anyone from the community is welcome to stop by and mingle with Red Cross staff and volunteers, who can share information about the organization and its mission to help Fayette County residents prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters.

The highlight of the event will be an emergency preparedness presentation by Michael Adametz, Red Cross emergency services director at 6 p.m.

Additional activities include an opportunity to tour fleet of Red Cross response vehicles, information about Red Cross volunteer opportunities, educational materials and giveaways, free refreshments and a prize pack raffle.

The former office was located on Morgantown Street in Uniontown.

The new office is located near the intersection of Route 40 and Washington Street.
