Ronald E. Keefer
0005929382-01-1.jpg Ronald E. Keefer, 75 of Buck Falls Road, Bedford, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Altoona Regional Hospital. He was born March 10, 1935 in Normalville, son of the late Earl and Ethel (Freed) Keefer.
On April 14, 1956 in Cumberland, MD, he married Mary Wedl, who survives.
Also survived by the following children; Terry L Dempsey of Bedford, Jeannie LeMacher and husband Frank of Waterloo, WI, Debra Hooker and husband Timothy of Bedford, Kimberly Grimes and husband Steven of Everett, Rhonda DiBuono and husband Don of Lonaconing, MD, Karen Lightner and husband Bruce of Bedford, Ronald E. Keefer, Jr. of Ephrata, Melissa Allen and husband Robert of Navarre, OH, and Andrew Keefer and wife Samantha of Mt. Airy, MD. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; Geneva Furin of Ruffsdale, Mary Kesler and husband Rev. Leroy C. of Acme, Lloyd Keefer and wife Judy of Lemont Furnace, Patricia Burkholder and husband Ron of Connellsville, Sharon Heisterman and husband Ralph of Dunbar and Janet Burkholder and husband William of Normalville. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Kenneth, Wendell, and Glenn Keefer.
Ronald was affiliated with the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church. He retired in 1996 as a machinist for CSX Railroad in Cumberland.
He was a coach for girl’s softball in Centerville for many years and was an avid outdoorsman and an amateur videographer. He loved his grandkids.
Family and friends will be received Saturday from 10-11 AM, the hour of a funeral service in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St. Connellsville, Pa.
A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
