0005930177-01-2.jpg John Butcho, Jr., age 91, of Grays Landing, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Point Manor North Personal Care Home, Uniontown, PA. He was born on November 16, 1918 in Grays Landing, PA, son of John and Rose Butcho.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife Irene V. (Kreson) Butcho; 3 Brothers, Andy, Steve, and Gaza Butcho; 2 Sisters, Margaret Vaslavsky, and infant Rose Marie.

He is survived by his Daughter, Janice Hunyady and husband Bob of Grays Landing, PA; Step-son, Sam Patitucci and wife Susan of Cape May Courthouse, NJ; his beloved Granddaughter, Katelyn Hunyady of Grays Landing, PA; and Grandsons, Brendon, Frank, Keith, and Joey Patitucci, all of Cape May Courthouse, NJ; a Brother, James Butcho; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend Rick Keener of Grays Landing.

The family extends their deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the owners and staff of Point Manor North Personal Care Home for their wonderful and compassionate care.

John was a coal miner retired from Consolidated Coal Company, Osage, WV; and was a member of UMWA, and the Pal’s Club of Masontown.

He served as the Nicholson Township Supervisor and also Democratic Committeeman for Nicholson Township for many years.

During WWII, he served his country with the United States Army 1st Division, “Big Red” Company K, 26th Infantry, and was a member of the Masontown Faith – Gray – McArdle VFW Post 4584, and Fort Mason American Legion Post 423.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC, 515 North Main St., Masontown, Pa. on Sunday, August 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father Jerome Botsko officiating.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Point Marion, PA, where military honors will be accorded by Faith – Gray – McArdle VFW Post 4584, and Fort Mason American Legion Post 423.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association or the Fayette Friends of Animals.
