Joseph P. Shaffer
0005930253-01-1.jpg 0005930253-01-2.jpg Joseph P. Shaffer, age 69, of McClellandtown, Pennsylvania died suddenly on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on July 27, 1941 in M a r t i n, Fayette County, Pennsyl-vania the son of Michael P. “Mitchie” Shaffer and Helen “Bub” (Bogozi) Shaffer.
“Joe” was lovingly known as “Pappy” to his Grandchildren and “Big Joe” to his family and friends.
He attended Masontown High School, Class of 1960, and attended Vale Tech in Blairsville where he studied Auto Body Repair.
He was the proprietor of J&J Auto Repair in Grays Landing, a business which he owned and operated for 21 years.
Prior to that, he worked in the Steel Mills in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.
“Joe” loved camping with his family, cars, and “oldies” music and shows.
He was a member of Family Motor Coach Association, Allegheny Mountain Chapter, Good Sam’s Club, and United Steel Worker’s Association.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving Wife of 47 years, Joan E. (Lucas) Shaffer; their Children: Joseph P. Shaffer and wife Cindy of McClellandtown, Michele N. Lundberg and her husband Michael of Hopwood, Pennsylvania, Janine Pacelli and her fiance Arlie Ashby, Fairmont, West Virginia; Grandchildren: Alaina Marie Shaffer and Michael Joseph Lundberg; Brother, William Shaffer and wife Donna; and Sister, Betty Shaffer Salopeck Garrisek of Ohio; many Nieces, Nephews, Family, and friends.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pennsylvania today (Monday, August 30) from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Father John M. Butler officiating.
Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum at Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
