Thomas J. Swenglish
0005930237-01-2.jpg Thomas J. Swenglish, age 69, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Latrobe Hospital after a brief illness. He was born July 12, 1941 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
His parents, John and Margaret Swenglish, and a brother, Jerome Swenglish, preceded him in death.
He was a former member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.
“Tom” was an avid racing fan and a retired long-haul Truck Driver.
He was a United States Army Veteran and a Lifetime Member of the N o r t h U n i o n V e t e r a n s o f F o r e i g n Wars Post 8543.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughters: Sandra Swenglish, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Sharon Fike and husband Gordon of Fort Hill, Pennsylvania; his grand children: Jessica Woy and her husband Brandon of Somerset, Pennsylvania, Heather Fike and Tyler Fike both of Fort Hill; beloved sister, Barbara Lang, Uniontown; brother-in-law, Barry Lang of Uniontown; a nephew, Eric Lang and his wife Carolyn of Pittsburgh; and a niece, Becky Lang of Annapolis, Maryland. Also left to cherish his memory are his friend and companion, Sheila Campbell, of Uniontown and their pet Boxer, “Boo”; and Frank Varto Jr., his best friend and life support.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL H O M E INC., 603 N o r t h Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pennsylvania today (Monday, August 30, 2010) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Father Stephen R. Bugay officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Macrina Cemetery in Uniontown where Military Honors will be accorded.
