By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

An Everson man is behind bars after he allegedly violently assaulted his infant son at their residence in Everson Sunday. State police Trooper Joseph W. Panepinto said Phillip Eugene Silvers, 31, of 315 Brown St., Apt. 4 was charged before Magisterial District Judge Dwight K. Shaner with two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person following the alleged incident.

Panepinto said the incident occurred Sunday afternoon when the baby’s mother, who was not identified by police, returned to her home and found Silvers suctioning blood from the baby’s nose.
