September programs set for Highlands Hospital

Highlands Hospital announced the following programs and classes set for September: n Wednesday and Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29 – Diabetic Management Class, 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. at Village Plaza. For more information, call Pat Gittinger, RN, diabetic educator, at 724-628-8008.

n Thursday, and Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30 – Diabetic Management Class, Diabetes Center, 5:30 p.m. For information call Gittinger at 724-628-8008.

n Friday – Rotary Club rose sale in the front lobby from 1 to 4 p.m. Representatives from the Rotary will be on hand selling assortments of colors of roses.

n Sept. 8 – Diabetic Support Group, Highlands Hospital, back dining room, 7 to 9 p.m. For information, call Gittinger, at 724-628-8008.

n Sept. 10 – Second Annual Bike, Walk and Run sponsored by the Diabetes Center of Highlands Hospital. The event will be held at the River Park and Bike Trail. There is no charge, but reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 724-628-8008. Bring your own bike, however, there will be a limited number of bikes for people without one. Enter to win a one-year membership to the John P. Murtha Wellness Center or one of two new Trek bikes. All participants receive a free T-shirt, and lunch will be served from noon until 2 p.m.

n Sept. 14 and 15 – Grand Illusions jewelry sale hosted by the hospital auxiliary. Representatives will be available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 14 and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15. Cash, Debit and credit cards are accepted.

Special purchase handbags and gift items will also be available.
