Rev. Lloyd C. Sickles, Sr.
0005994320-01-1.jpg Rev. Lloyd C. Sickles, Sr., 88, Uniontown, PA went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh, PA. Lloyd was born on October 26, 1922, in Uledi, PA, the son of Newton and Anna Belle (McClelland) Sickles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva May (Griffith) Sickles, a daughter, Judith Rummell and four brothers and five sisters.
He was a retired minister of the Pittsburgh Conference of the Free Methodist Church of North America. Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945. He was a World War II veteran serving in the South Pacific Theater on the USS Aircraft Carrier Nathoma Bay, and awarded six Battle Stars.
He is survived by three sons: Ronald Sickles, Sr., Lloyd Sickles, Jr. and wife, Juanita and Pastor Dale Sickles and wife, Carol all of Uniontown; a brother, Earl Sickles of Uledi, PA; a sister, Mary Simpson of Smock, PA; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 N. Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, PA today, December 10, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 9 until 10 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held in the Revere Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles O’Brien officiating.
Everyone is to meet at the church on Saturday.
Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
