Strawn C. Hall
0005996743-01-1.jpg Strawn C. Hall, 95, of Connellsville (Bullskin Twp.) went home peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2010 at his home to meet his Lord face to face. He was surrounded with many of his loved ones at his side. He was born March 3, 1915 at Stouffer (Bullskin Twp.), a son of the late Charles W. and Mary White Hall.
Strawn was raised as a farmer and he worked for the WWPA and on the railroad. He retired as the top salesman for Consolidated Home Supply of Pittsburgh. He was the oldest living member of the Pennsville Baptist Church where he worked as a janitor and was a member of the 50 Plus Club and the Adult Bible Class and where he also served communion and visited the shut ins. Strawn enjoyed his family, his church and his gardening. Always a grateful man, he loved making people happy. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addtion to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Mary Louise Mongell Hall on August 11, 2010 and his eldest son, Gerald Dean Hall in 1949; his siblings, Clarence, Smith, Stuart, Earl and Elmer Hall, Anna Mae Hall and two half sisters, Marcine Thomas and Eva Burner and Dorothy and Roy, who passed away as infants.
Strawn is survived by two children, Robert D. Hall and his wife Clara Mae of Uniontown and Janet Hall Rega and her husband Ray of Decatur, GA.; three grandchildren, Linda Mae Hall Parker and her husband Roger of Madison Heights, Va., Raymond Charles Rega and his wife Rebecca of Canton GA. and Rock Alan Rega of Decatur, GA.; his great-grandchildren, Jarrett and Brandon Parker, Jason Strawn and Casey Rega, Rock Alan Rega, Jr., Roxanne Louise Rega Arriaga and Douglas Foster Rega and his great-great-grandchildren, Haley Mae Parker and her sister; Hudson Gene and Cain O’Neal Rega, Anthony and Autumn Laurenzo and Spencer O’Neal Rega.
Strawn will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Friends will be received from 7-9 P.M. today and 2-4, 7-9 P.M. Thursday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville. Additional viewing will take place on Friday in the Pennsville Baptist Church from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M., the hour of services with Rev. Dr. Terry Murray and Rev. Robert Bixel co-officiating.
Interment will be in the Pennsville Independent Cemetery.
