Ethel Mae (Nedley) (Coughenour) Harper
0006000365-01-1.jpg 0006000365-01-2.jpg Ethel Mae (Nedley) (Coughenour) Harper of Uniontown, Pa., died T u e s d a y, December 21, 2010 at Lafayette Manor Nursing Home, Uniontown. She was born on November 29, 1924 in Vanderbilt, Pa., to Harry M. and Maude E. (Harshman) Nedley.
She lived her whole life in this area after spending the last 10 years making her home with her daughter, Connie L. (Nedley) Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant brother, Jacob Nedley, her infant daughter, Catherine Coughenour, her beloved brother Robert R. Nedley and beloved sister, Emma Lou Yonkey, her first husband Floyd Coughenour and second husband Robert Harper.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Connie L. (Nedley) Wilson; loving brother, Harry Nedley and wife Mary of Uniontown, Pa.; sister-in-law, Doris Nedley of Connellsville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; two step-grandchildren, Edward and Eric Coughenour both of Baltimore, MD; her step-children, Marlene Bill and her husband William of Smock, George R. Harper and Janet Harper all of Baltimore, MD; a step-granddaughter, Kimberly Quinlan and her husband Michael of Amesbury, Mass.
Ethel was a life long member of the Juniata United Methodist Church where she was an active member during most of her 86 years. She belonged to the United Methodist Women and the organized Sunday School Class, C.I.C. (Co-workers in Christianity).
During her 86 years, she was a “baby-sitter” to many herein the Uniontown area-known as Ethel, Mae Mae, Apple and Aunt Mae Mae. She was known for all the little songs she would sing to each of them.
Ethel loved her family and friends; she loved to travel to many places throughout the United States and especially enjoyed her time at the beach with family.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, December 23, 2010 until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service with Pastor Terry Teluch and Assistant Pastor Dan Brandt officiating.
Interment will be privately held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
