Cynthia J. Haley Pilgrim, age 50, of Lancaster, Ohio and formerly of Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 25, 2010 following complications from a stroke. She is survived by special friend Steve Childers and family of Lancaster; the love of her life, her son, John Anthony Beighle of the home; by her mother, Gloria J. (Duncan) Parkinson of Washington, Pennsylvania; by her father, Anthony (Carol) Haley of Dawson, Pennsylvania; and her sisters: Cheri Costello of Ocala, Florida and Christine Shaw of Zanesville, Ohio. In addition to her immediate family, she is also survived by stepsisters Lori (Jim) Deglau and Dianne (Gregg) Gondura; half brother, Tony Haley; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Alice Kitzinger and Matthew Donahue; by her paternal grandparents, John and Alma Haley; and her stepfather, Paul A. Watt.

“Cindy” loved animals having worked at the Hidden Valley Veterinarian C l i n i c in Washington, Pennsylvania and then at the Lancaster Animal Clinic for many years.

She was a strong supporter of Forgotten Paws.

“Cindy” began nursing school at Hocking College prior to having a stroke in 2002.

In keeping with Cindy’s love of the medical field, she will contribute to research so other may learn how to cope with Lupus and debilitating strokes at a young age.

A private Celebration of Life will be held with Family and Friends in May 2011.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Pickering House, Hospice of Fairfield County, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43120-3461.
