Morgan’s bat, arm lift Point Marion, 9-4 Point Marion broke the game open Thursday night with seven runs in the bottom of the second inning, and Danny Morgan went the distance in a 9-4 Fayette American Legion Baseball League victory over visiting California. Morgan had the key hit in the second with a two-run double and then coming around to score. He improved his record to 1-1, allowing nine hits in the complete game victory with five strikeouts and seven walks.

Sam Hearn led the Point Marion offense with three hits and two RBIs. Aaron King and Gary Engle also drove home two, and Tanner Dalton doubled.

Ty Bell had a big game for California (9-6) with a solo home run in the third inning, a double, three singles and three RBIs. Clay Roman added a pair of singles.

Point Marion (9-7) travels to Uniontown tonight.
