Spirit and Fire Ministries’ center to host grand opening
Spirit and Fire Ministries Family Worship and Revival Center in North Union Township will host a grand opening for the new church at 6 p.m. tomorrow. The church is located at 306 Edison St. at the former location of Bethel Baptist Church. A brochure about the church explains it is of no denomination and preaches a Full Gospel Word of Faith message.
The grand opening will include coffee and light refreshments.
The Rev. Daniel T. Androsik Jr. of Lemont Furnace is pastor. Androsik was ordained three years ago. He has an associate’s degree in Christian studies and a bachelor’s degree in church ministry from Sure Foundation Theological Institute in Florida. Earning these degrees through distance learning, he is now enrolled in the school’s master’s program.
Androsik and his wife, Tiffany, have five children: Daniel, 11; Devin, 8, Madison, 7; Emma, 3; and Chloe, who will become two years old in July.
The church began about 18 months ago in the Androsik home after the pastor, who works at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, had been involved in street evangelism in West Virginia.
Spirit and Fire Ministries recently became housed at the Edison Street location. Regular worship services are at 6 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday with Bible study taking place at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The church plans to go into the local community and help people who are hurting from a variety of issues that range from divorce to drugs.
“We want to reach the community,” said Androsik. “We want to be an outreach ministry to people.”
In the future, the church would also like to host a coat drive and food drives.
“We want to give back to the community,” Androsik said. The pastor said the church will also evangelize.
“We want to get people excited for the Lord,” he said. “We want to shepherd the flock.”
Plans are in the works for a Vacation Bible School to be offered in August. The church also hopes to start a youth group that will be called Youth on Fire.
“They’re our future so we want to reach them,” said Tiffany Androsik.
The pastor said of youths: “One of the most important things is to get children to know the Lord.”
Androsik, who is not a paid pastor, is planning fundraisers to support the church. Spirit and Fire Ministries previously hosted a hoagie fundraiser and is planning to host a spaghetti dinner towards the end of July.
Spirit and Fire Ministries is looking for people who want to join the church and be part of the ministry. The church is also searching for a live praise and worship team that plays contemporary praise and worship.
