Fire hits Fayette residence

Multiple fire departments were called to the scene of a fast-moving blaze that left a Fayette County family without a home. The fire erupted around 5 p.m. and destroyed the Springfield Township home, located at 375 Mountain Road.

Officials reported that a man, woman and multiple children were living in the home.

No one was in the house when the fire began.

Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by fire departments from Normalville, Saltlick, Ohiopyle, Connellsville Township and Farmington volunteer fire departments.

Fayette EMS also responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported. Crews were still on scene extinguishing the blaze late Monday evening.

Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
