Allegheny County man sues Sears

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

An Allegheny County man has sued Sears Roebuck and Co. after he was allegedly injured when part of an air compressor at a store at Uniontown Mall fell on his foot last summer. In the complaint, Edward Cherepko stated he was shopping for the compressor at Sears in June 2009.

When he reached for it, part of it fell on his right foot, according to the complaint.

The filing, transferred to federal court last week, alleged that Cherepko sustained “serious and painful injuries” to his foot that have caused physical scarring and emotional upset.

The suit alleges the store is responsible for negligently assembling the compressor.
