Otis W. Dennis
Otis W. Dennis, 82, of Bruceton Mills (Salem Community), died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, with his family at his side, in the home of his devoted daughter, Nancy Dennis Savage, who in life took care of him. The son of the late Ewing and Lillie Mae Herring Dennis, he was born January 7, 1928, at Brandonville, WV.
He retired in 1992 from Coolspring Stone Quarry in Jumonville, PA. Otis was employed for 26 years with the quarry where he was a driller and blaster. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of Woodmen of the World, and Teamsters Union #491.
He loved attending flea markets and yard sales, running his tractor and collecting wheat head pennies with his granddaughter, Renee.
His is survived by his children and spouses, Tom and Nancy Dennis and Nancy and Neil Savage all of Bruceton Mills; three granddaughters, Renee Yommer and companion David Hromada, Joni Woodland and spouse Rick and Robin Self and spouse Jeremy; three great grandchildren, Bridget, Lainey Mae, and Greyson; sister-in-laws: Corabelle Dennis of Gibbon Glade and Judy Fischer, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the CARL R. SPEAR FUNERAL HOME, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, today from 3-5 and 6-8 and Friday, July 9, from 10 until the 11 a.m. time of service with Pastor Donnie Savage officiating.
Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Preston County VFW Posts, the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 977 of Preston County, and WVANG Military Funeral Honors of Camp Dawson at the grave site.
