George S. Gallo, 83 of Hopwood, Pa. Passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Golden Living Center, Uniontown, Pa. He was born April 22, 1927 in Brownfield, Pa., son of the late John and Susan Hlach Gallo, a sister and two brothers.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 63 years Hazel M. Michener Gallo; three children: Sheri O’Day and husband Jim of Somersworth, N.H., Randy S. Gallo and wife Susan of Uniontown, Lana S. Workman and husband Warner of Lovettsville, Va.; eleven grandchildren: Erin Stanton and husband James, Laurie Gallo, Jonathan Gallo, Amanda Jurosco, Alexander O’Day, Wyatt O’Day, Cameron O’Day, Warner Workman, Olivia Workman, Isaac Workman, Isabella Workman; six great grandchildren: Lillian, James, Lydia, Luke, Leah and Linden Stanton and numerous nieces and nephews.

George was member of Third Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during W.W. II in the Pacific Theatre. He was retired owner of Qwik Stop Food Store on Connellsville St. in Uniontown for 16 years. He held membership in the AMVETS Post No. 103 Hopwood, V.F.W. Post No. 47 Uniontown, B. P.O. Elks No. 370 Uniontown Kiwanis and Hopwood Exchange Club.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood today (Friday) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of the service with Rev. Randy Costolo officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. View Memorial Park, Brownfield.
