David C. Coughanour
David C. Coughanour, age 63, of Hopwood, Pennsylvania passed away Friday, July 9, 2010 in the UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born December 31, 1946 in Scottdale, Pennsylvania he was the son of Genevieve Zarafino Coughanour of Scottdale and the now late William Clyde Coughanour.
“Dave” graduated from Southmoreland High School with the Class of 1964.
He had been a resident of Hopwood for the last 4 years.
Dave was a retired Captain for the Pennsylvania State Police and most recently had been working as a truck driver for Shane Transport of New Salem, Pennsylvania.
He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War who served in the United States Navy.
Dave was a member and Past Master of King Solomon’s Lodge No. 346 F. & A. M. and the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection.
He was a member of the Followers of Christ Fellowship Church in Dunbar.
In addition to his mother, Dave is survived by his loving wife, Susan J. Porreca Coughanour; his son, David Alan Coughanour and his girl friend Valerie of Falls Church Virginia; his stepsons: Shawn Phillips and wife Kathy of Brownsville, Pennsylvania and Jason Lee of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; his step grandchildren: Tyler Phillips and Colin Phillips; his brother, James Coughanour and wife Joyce, Scottdale, Pennsylvania his sister, Carol Taconi of Scottdale, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends will be received in the B R O O K S F U N E R A L HOME INC., 111 E a s t G r e e n Street, Connellsville, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at which time King Solomon’s Lodge No. 346 F. & A. M. will conduct a S e r v i c e which will be immediately followed by a Funeral Service with Pastor Jay McLaughlin officiating.
Interment will be private.
