Fireworks, car show cap Community Days

By Steve Ferris 1 min read

FAIRCHANCE – Residents were treated to a display of fireworks and classic cars on Saturday during the Fairchance Fire Department’s annual Community Days. The weekend-long event featured a pageant on Friday, fireworks and the car show Saturday and music and food on both days at the fire department grounds off Route 857.

At the pageant, Daniel Maceiko won the Junior Mr. Fairchance title, Matthew Clark won the Little Mr. Fairchance contest, Isabella Sparks won the Junior Miss Fairchance crown and Delaney Angel won the Little Miss Fairchance competition.

The bands Birmingham and Last Call performed on stage and King Wolf Karaoke also entertained the audience.

A steady crowd of residents enjoyed the car show, which featured classic cars and trucks and modified vehicles, and entertainment Saturday afternoon, but a huge gathering assembled for the fireworks display Saturday night.

Fire department President William Bailey said next year’s event will be even more memorable because it will coincide with the department’s hosting of the annual Fayette County Firemen’s Association convention and the department will be celebrating its 100th anniversary.

The weeklong event will feature a host of activities, Bailey said.
