Walter T. Henigin
Walter T. Henigin, age 69, of Smithfield, Pennsylvania died unexpectedly Thursday, July 8, 2010 at his home. Born on May 5, 1941 in Fairchance, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Leonard Sr. and Cora Rankin Henigin.
He was a retired coal miner, who worked at Consol’s Osage and Loveridge mines and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Walter had a small farm in Springhill Township raising beef cattle and was well known in the area for his side business of processing deer for the local hunters.
Surviving are: his wife of 44 years, Ruth Ann Brewer Henigin, whom he married on May 28, 1966; three daughters and their spouses: Julie and Donald Dranbauer and Judi and Gary Kisner all of Smithfield, Pennsylvania and Amy J. and George Ball of Lexington, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Grant and Alli Kisner and Cole and Kyle Dranbauer; four brothers: Charles Henigin and Howard Henigin both of Bridgeton New Jersey, George Henigin of Point Marion, Pennsylvania, Fred Henigin of Shinnston, West Virginia; and sisters: Mrs. Fred (Delores Jean) Voithofer of Smithfield Pennsylvania, Mrs. Gus (Rita) Miller and Florence Elaine Henigin both of Bridgeton, New Jersey and Mrs. Harold (Frances) King of Bridgeport, West Virginia.
Deceased are his parents; a brother, Leonard Henigin Jr.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD F U N E R A L H O M E, Point Marion, Pennsylvania today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, July 12, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating.
Interment will follow in C e d a r G r o v e Cemetery, New Geneva, Pennsylvania.
Visitation was also held on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
