FCCAA accepting online donations

By Herald Standard Staff 2 min read

Fayette County Community Action Agency Inc. (FCCAA), a nonprofit organization that offers numerous services and programs to the disadvantaged, is now accepting online donations. To make an online donation to FCCAA, visit the agency’s website (www.fccaa.org), click on the “donation” tab at the top of the page and then click on the “Donate Now!” button. Donations will be securely processed through PayPal, FCCAA said.

“We’re trying to make it easier and more convenient for people to donate money to help families in our community,” said James M. Stark, the agency’s chief executive officer.

“And we’re trying to get the word out to the public that this is now an option for them.

“Many nonprofit agencies are having great success with online donations, and we thought this would be an excellent opportunity for us to expand our donation process,” Stark added. “With the economic recession and high unemployment rate, we have seen an increase in requests for emergency services, such as rent/mortgage assistance and much-needed help through the food bank.”

Stark said FCCAA has been serving the county for 44 years, an accomplishment that could not have been achieved without the help of donations from generous people.

Each year, FCCAA continues to advance its mission, which is to strengthen people and families to become more self-sufficient, achieving their potential by taking advantage of opportunities, improving the conditions in which they live and taking ownership of their community.

“Through programs initiated at Fayette County Community Action Agency, we have seen many lives changed for the better,” Stark said. “We are always grateful to the wonderful individuals, businesses and organizations that make our work so successful.

“No one in the county should be hungry, homeless, lonely, undereducated or immobile,” Stark said. “Online donations will help to bring Fayette County Community Action Agency closer to making this goal a reality.”

Anyone who prefers that his donation benefit a particular FCCAA program, such as aging, the food bank, housing, education, WIC or nurse family partnership can indicate their program of choice in the “special instructions” box during the checkout process.

If no program is indicated, donations will go where they are most needed to help Fayette County families in crisis.

For more information on the programs and services offered, call FCCAA at 724-437-6050 or visit the website at www.fccaa.org.
