Busti named to prestigious IUP national honor society

Shayleigh Busti of Rices Landing was offered membership in the Phi Eta Sigma national honor society at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Members of the Phi Eta Sigma honor society are given membership based on a 3.5 grade point average or higher.

Busti has made the dean’s list both semesters of her freshman year with 3.75 GPA. She is majoring in physical education and sports with a minor in business.

Busti, a 2009 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School, served as senior class president, student council president and class salutatorian. She was a 4-year letter winner in both basketball and softball. In softball, she was named to the all-state and all-star team as shortstop.
