Woman accused in stabbing to stand trial
A Lake Lynn woman accused of stabbing another woman in the neck during an altercation last month will stand trial. Uniontown police Officer Matthew Painter said Andrea Mae Cobb, 29, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment and disorderly conduct following the fight shortly after midnight June 29.
Painter said a warrant was initially issued for Cobb’s arrest following the incident.
Officer David J. Rutter captured her about 10 hours later as she tried to remove her car from the impound lot at Joby’s Gulf at Fayette Street and Beeson Avenue.
Cobb waived all charges against her to Fayette County Court during a preliminary hearing before Metros on Tuesday.
Painter said the incident occurred at 12:26 a.m. near the intersection of Lenox Street and Cleveland Avenue. He said that Cobb and Tasha Miciotto, 39, also of Uniontown, fell to the ground during a fight.
Painter said William Leahey of Uniontown saw the fight and went outside his home to break it up.
Leahey told police that when he tried to pull the women apart, he suffered a deep cut on his left index finger, Painter said. When he was able to pry the women apart, he told police that Miciotto was “bleeding profusely” from her neck, Painter said.
Cobb then fled the location on foot, leaving her car at the scene, Painter said, noting it was later impounded.
It is not clear what Cobb used to stab Miciotto and cut Leahey, police said.
Miciotto was taken to Uniontown Hospital and later flown to a hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of her injuries.
Cobb remains free after posting $10,000 straight cash bond.
