0005904498-01-1.jpg Edith Elsie Hixenbaugh Brown, age 83, Poland Mines, Pennsylvania died on Friday, July 16, 2010 in Golden L i v i n g Center, Waynesburg. Edith was b o r n on March 20, 1927 to George Walter Hixenbaugh and Nellie M a e Wilkinson (Hixenbaugh) in Grays Landing, Pennsylvania.

On May 25, 1946, she married Harry Milton Brown. He died in 1999.

She was a retired glass worker from Houze Glass Company in Point Marion, Pennsylvania.

During World War II, Edith did war work as a Lensmaker in Ohio.

She was a member of the Poland Mines Assembly of God Church.

Edith enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by one son, Harry Marvin Brown (Rose), Dilliner, Pennsylvania; and four daughters: Geneva Rose Wagner (Richard) of Point Marion, Pennsylvania, Judith Ann Senkinc (John) of Greensboro, Pennsylvania, Karen Sue Short (Larry) of Orrville, Ohio, Joyce Eileen Brown, Dilliner; also fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Four brothers are deceased: George, George Walter, John Thomas, and Harry Edward Hixenbaugh; three sisters: Margaret (at birth), Nellie McIntire and Mary Perry. A grandson, Matthew Senkinc, is also deceased.

Friends will be received in LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa., Paul Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, today from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 20, from 10 until 11 a.m. The Service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Lewis officiating.

Interment follows in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.
