Charges dismissed against man charged assault on girlfriend

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

All charges were dismissed this afternoon against a Uniontown man accused of assaulting his girlfriend and trying to smother her with a pillow July 5 in Uniontown. Uniontown police Officer Frederick G. Kampert said Larry Brumfield, 57, of 160 Lenox St., Uniontown, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Dwight K. Shaner with simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

Kampert said all charges against Brumfield were dismissed during a preliminary hearing held before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros today because the alleged victim, Alicia Marie Boyd, of Uniontown did not appear in court.
