Herman H. Hribar, 86 of Uniontown, Pa., died July 22, 2010 at his home. He was born September 6, 1923 in Bagley, Pa. and was raised in New Wynn, Pa., the son of the late Matthew and Elizabeth (Trusak) Hribar. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter Mary Kay Hribar, two sisters: Delores Reilly and Mary Jo Holly.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years Catherine (Kay Bertovich) Hribar, two sons: Dave Hribar of Uniontown and Mark Hribar and wife Susan of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren: Susan Lawyer, Jim Hribar, Maddy and Katy Hribar; six great grandchildren: Joshua, Mayson, Max, Katie, Chloe and Isabella Lawyer; sister Elizabeth Krizner and husband Anthony of Uniontown and many nieces and nephews.

Herman was a member of St. Mary’s (Nativity Church) of Uniontown. He graduated from Georges Twp. High School in 1941, attended Penn State University and California University of Pa. and received his M.E. in Vocational Education from the University of Pittsburgh. He also attended Ford Motor School in Pittsburgh, General Motors Training, British Motors and Ohio Diesel Tech.

He worked at Parker Applicance and Stewart Motors in Uniontown as Sales Manager and retired as a teacher from Fayette Co. Area Vo. Tech. He was a member of the NRA, Fayette County and PA Association of School Retirees, the PSEA and the NEA. He was an assistant scout master at St. Mary’s Troop No. 620.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood today (Friday) from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 24, 2010 until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s (Nativity Church) with Rev. Fr. Micah Kozoil as Celebrant. Parish Wake Services will be held at 5 p.m. today (Friday).

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
