Community Kitchen
Masontown news The Community Kitchen, located in the First Presbyterian Church, Masontown, is in need of a chef or chefs to help plan and prepare the community dinners.
Volunteer chefs are asked to contact Kathy West at 724-583-9514 to discuss the possibility of serving the community on a permanent or rotating basis
Farmer’s Market
As our gardens begin to produce extra vegetables, consider setting up a table and selling your abundant produce at the Farmer’s Market. The market is held every Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the German-Masontown Park. There is no charge to the seller. The seller is responsible for his or her own table and chairs.
Last chance
This is the last chance to purchase advance tickets for a cash bash/bingo to be held at the Footedale Volunteer Fire Department. The event will begin at noon, Aug. 1. The $30 donation will include a bingo package. Proceeds from this event will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Car show
St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone-High House Road, Leckrone, will hold a car show today from noon to 5 p.m. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 50 cars registered. The registration is $8. There will be trophies, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. A stuffed chicken breast dinner will be served at the parish center.
Summertime dance
The Uniontown Senior Citizens will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday at the VFW Post 47, West Main Street, Uniontown. The theme is “Good Old Summertime” with music by the Dave Dahl Orchestra.
Kassie DeWalt and her volunteer committee will greet attendees and provide refreshments and door prizes. Appreciation is extended to Pete Porreca, VFW commander, and the post members, for their continued support. The public is invited to attend.
Hog roast
Masontown Fish and Game Club will hold a hog roast Aug. 7. For more information, call 724-583-8180.
