One injured when blaze sweeps through home

DAWSON – One person suffered minor injuries when a fire swept through parts of a home early Saturday in Dawson. Officials said the fire began shortly before 3 a.m. at the home at the intersection of Main and Haas streets.

Volunteer firefighters from Dawson, Everson, DL&V, Connellsville Township, Perry Township and Scottdale responded to the blaze and were able to contain the fire to one portion of the home.

Firefighters said that it appears the fire was started by a malfunctioning air conditioner.

Officials said one resident suffered minor injuries and was taken by Fayette EMS to Highlands Hospital in Connellsville for treatment.
