Mildred Gmitter Nemchik
Mildred Gmitter Nemchik, age 79, of Uniontown passed away suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, July 27, 2010 in the Golden Living Center, Uniontown. She was born August 11, 1930 in West Leisenring, Pa., the daughter of the late Michael Gmitter and Dora Foitin Gmitter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Frank J. Nemchik who passed away August 27, 2007; sisters: Elaine Yaniga, Marie Holick and Arlene Oravec.
Mildred was a dedicated member of St. Mary (Nativity) R.C. Church, Secular Franciscan Order, Christian Mothers, Holy Rosary Society, Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary 1669 and the School Food Service Association. She worked for many years for the Uniontown Area School District in the Ben Franklin Cafeteria.
She is survived by her loving children: Frank M. Nemchik and wife Lorraine of Grove City, Ohio, Michael Nemchik and wife Mary of Uniontown, Pa. and Donna Nemchik of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Loving grandchildren: Michelle, Lauren, Kathleen and Andrea and husband Stephen; sister, Dorothy Holepit of Virginia Beach, Virginia; other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. today, Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday morning from 10:30 am to 12 NOON when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s (Nativity) R. C. Church with Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as celebrant.
Interment follows in Mt. Macrina Cemetery.
Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary will meet for a ritual today at 4 p.m.
A Parish Wake will be held this evening at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home.
