LH discusses renovation costs
Building renovations and budgeting were discussed Tuesday by members of the Laurel Highlands School Board, with numerous options still on the board for both items during a combined meeting of the budget and finance and buildings and grounds committees. Greg Hensh, the district’s business manager, noted that if the board floats a bond issue this year to take advantage of lower interest rates, it must be taken into consideration in the budget about to be adopted.
“Any financing you do is going to require a tax increase to cover the debt,” Hensh said. “If nobody’s in favor of raising taxes, I don’t know how you’re going to do a project.”
The board is looking at renovations options ranging from $36 million to $47 million.
