Norma Lillian Pinkney Sargent
0005875496-01-1.jpg Norma Lillian Pinkney Sargent, age 73, of Stringtown, Carmichaels, Pennsylvania died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her home. Norma was b o r n o n December 29, 1936 in Stringtown the daughter of Howard Pinkney and Esmeralda “Sis” (Cole) Pinkney Deems.
On September 13, 1964, Norma married Dean M. Sargent, who survives.
She worked as a devoted Caregiver at Pratt’s Personal Care Home for many years and as a volunteer counselor for cancer issues at Washington (Pennsylvania) Hospital.
She loved to bake for her Family and Friends.
In addition to her husband, Norma is survived by three children: Carol Lynne Presock (Bob), Clarksville, Diane Lee Giles (Gary), Carmichaels, and Harrison Scott Sargent (Beth), Waynesburg; grandchildren: Keandra Day, Robert Presock, Gary Giles Jr., Ryan Giles, Colby Giles, Colin Sargent, Zachary Sargent, Hunter Sargent and Spenser Sargent; six great grandchildren: Zade Presock, Stefan Day, Addison Day, Xander Day, Hanna Giles and Taylor Giles; one brother, William C. Pinkney (Mary Ann), Uniontown,Pennsylvania one sister, Karen Deems DeBolt (Herb), Zephyrhills, Florida; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Pinkney, Madison, Ohio
Deceased are her parents; her stepfather, Decatur W. “Jim” Deems; brother, Harold T. Pinkney; and stepsister, Marian Deems.
Friends will be received in LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320 (724.966.5100) Paul M. Lesako Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Wednesday (June 2) from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 7 p.m. in the Funeral Home with Bishop Bob Dixon officiating.
