Bud Murphy’s tops Watson & Sons, 3-1 Matt Dishong came out on top in a pitchers’ duel to lead Bud Murphy’s to a 3-1 win in eight innings over Watson & Sons Tuesday in Fayette County League play.
Dishong struck out 10 batters and allowed no earned runs in a complete game. Andy Schleihauf provided the difference, hitting a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth.
Casey Teagarden had two hits for Bud Murphy’s (5-1), while David Montibeller had a pair of hits for Watson & Sons (0-6).
Brian Rodovich took the loss, striking out seven batters and walking three in 7 1/3 innings of work.
Blue Mountain 8, Mitch’s Bail Bonds 2 – Blue Mountain pulled away from a 2-2 tie with four runs in the fourth inning and a pair of runs in the sixth to seal a County League win.
Cameron Ward (1-0) pitched in relief to earn the win, pitching the final 1 1/3 innings. Eric Holt, Jeff Thompson and Ron Nopwasky each doubled for Blue Mountain (3-0).
Zack Patterson tripled for Mitch’s (2-2) and Pat Gannon suffered the loss, walking three and striking out six in five innings of work.
Blue Mountain returns to action Thursday to host Mill Run.

Belle Vernon 13, Carmichaels 7 – Belle Vernon jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.
Josh Chaussinaud went the distance, striking out four and walking four while yielding four hits and seven runs for Belle Vernon (4-1).
Michael Pica led the offense with three hits, three runs scored and four RBI. Mike Pavlic doubled.
Nick Clarke took the loss, surrendering eight runs on three hits, walking four and whiffing four in five innings. Brent Moskola had two hits.
Both teams play Thursday as Belle Vernon travels to Connellsville and Carmichaels travels to Uniontown.
