Two injured in Uniontown mishap
Two men were injured Tuesday afternoon when the car they were traveling in overturned on Fayette Street in Uniontown. City police Officer David J. Rutter said the crash occurred when a 2003 Jaguar sedan driven by Robert Louis Morton, 61, of Westover, W.Va., struck a pickup truck owned by Valerie Porachan of Uniontown while it was parked along the road.
Rutter, who is the department’s crash reconstruction specialist, said the car struck the pickup and overturned.
Both the driver and a passenger identified as Louis Snow, 79, of Morgantown, W.Va., were injured in the collision, Rutter said, noting that the men were wearing seat belts when the crash occurred.
He noted that a man also was unloading tools from a trailer attached to Porachan’s pickup truck at the time of the crash but was able to escape unharmed.
Both men were taken by Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance to Uniontown Hospital for treatment.
Rutter said that neither man suffered life-threatening injuries.
He added that the crash remains under investigation.
In addition to police and ambulance personnel, the Uniontown Fire Department responded to the crash.
