Paul A. Burd
Paul A. Burd, age 88, of Vanderbilt, Pa., passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Harman House, Mt. Pleasant, Pa. He was born May 9, 1922, in Farmington, Pa., son of the late Austin and Flora Nelson Burd.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Galla Burd, brothers, William Burd, Harry Burd and Glenn Burd, sisters, Evelyn Mason and Mildred Carson.
Paul was the last surviving member of his family.
Mr. Burd was a member of the Dunbar Baptist Church. He was a WW II veteran and a member of the VFW Post 47.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma M. Sproul Burd; his children, Richard Burd and wife, Natalie of Uniontown, Pa., Parris Burd and David Burd and wife, Connie of Waynesburg, Pa.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three step children: Timothy Burd and wife, Janet of Elizabethtown, Pa., Stephen Burd and wife, Beth Ann of Connellsville, Pa. and Barry Burd and wife, Arleen of Dunbar, Pa. and three step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday until 1 p.m., the hour of service with Rev. Paul Lint officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.
Military Rites will be accorded by the VFW Post 47 at the Funeral Home following the funeral services.
