Loyd “Tubby” Flick, age 86, of Brownsville, Pa. died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Mt. Macrina Manor. He was born on February 14, 1924 in Brownsville, Pa. son of the late Edward Earl and Annie Parker Flick.

He was a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter of Brownsville, Pa.

Tubby was retired from The Brownsville Police Department after 28 years of service where he served as a police sergeant, Veteran of WWII, member of the American Legion Post 295 of Brownsville, Pa., Knights of Columbus Council 3461, over 50 year active member of The South Brownsville Vol. Fire Dept., Fayette County Fireman’s Association, charter member of the Bridgeport Young Men’s Club, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 55, and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs Association.

He is survived by his wife, Florine Gordon Flick; three children: Gregory (Rick) Flick and wife, Sharon, Brownsville, Pa., Roxane McMaster and husband, Ed, Richeyville, Pa., Brian Flick and wife, Jackie, Salix, Pa.; six grandchildren: Gregory Flick, Jr. and fiancee, Kristian Stasko, Jennifer Jellots and husband, Dino, Lisa Lynch and husband, Brian, Danielle Flick and fiance, Will Robison, Matthew Flick, Sarah Flick; five great-grand-children: Dakota Flick, Ryan Lynch, Christian Jellots, Allison Lynch and Malayna Robison; brother, Eugene Flick and wife, Martha, Brownsville, Pa.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Leonard and Arthur Flick.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, Pa. with the Rev. Father Vincent Gigliotti as celebrant.

Interment St. Peter Churchyard with full Military Rites accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 940, 838.

In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Historic Church of St. Peter or the South Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department.

The South Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct services this evening at 7 p.m. A Parish Wake service will also be held today at 3:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
