State police to hold sobriety checkpoint

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

State police said a sobriety checkpoint will be held at a location in Greene County through Saturday. Troopers assigned to the Waynesburg barracks will conduct the checkpoint to detect and arrest individuals who are impaired by alcohol or drugs and are traveling the roads through Greene County.

Police said checkpoints, part of Operation Strikeforce, are held in hopes of curtailing DUIs and lowering the number of alcohol-related crashes and deaths.
