Animals removed from South Union home

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

Several animals were removed Monday from a South Union Township home that officials said was in deplorable condition and unfit for human or animal habitation. Kathy Milne, a humane police officer with the Fayette SPCA, said seven dogs and three cats were removed from the mobile home, located at 147 McKnight Hill Road in Brownfield.

Milne said the SPCA was alerted after a neighbor called the South Union Township supervisors Monday morning to report animals that may have been left abandoned in the home.

When officials arrived on scene, they found three dogs tied outside the home and four more dogs inside the home. Milne said that all the dogs were emaciated.
