Fayette County’s finest scholar-athletes to be honored June 23
For the 17th consecutive year, the Herald-Standard is proud to honor the top male and female scholar/athletes in the graduating classes of Fayette County’s seven high schools. As usual, we have assembled a who’s who among Fayette County’s scholastic population. The scholar-athletes were selected by the administration of their respective schools and have achieved both in the classroom and on the various fields and courts throughout the county.
This special group of 14 young men and women will be honored at the second annual induction banquet of the Fayette County Sports Hall of Fame. That event will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. All 14 of the honorees are college-bound and many of them will continue their athletic careers in college.
In the next seven weekday editions of the Herald-Standard, we will introduce you to the scholar/athlete Class of 2010. The stories vary based on the individuality of each member of this outstanding group. The common thread is the desire to achieve and the dedication to make it happen.
