Howard Herbert “Bunky” Hixson
0005882907-01-1.jpg Howard Herbert “Bunky” Hixson, age 54 of Lemont Furnace, Pa., passed away on Wednesday June 9, 2010, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born in Uniontown, Pa. on November 30, 1955, a son of William and Hulda (Blosser) Hixson.
He was the President of Sears fundraiser for Children’s Hospital; he worked with troubled youth at St. Vincent DePaul both in California and also worked at Schwartz Men’s clothing for 18 years in California.
He is survived by his parents William and Hulda Hixson of Lemont Furnace, brothers and sisters William Hixson of Florida, Bernadine Woods and her husband Glenn of Uniontown, Robert Hixson of Lemont Furnace, Barry Hixson of Lemont Furnace, Bruce Hixson of Uniontown, Brad Hixson of Lemont Furnace, Benita Blosser and her husband Robert of Fairchance, May Bieter and her husband Jerry of Buda, Texas, a special friend Wanda Moore and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. today June 11, 2010 from 6 to 8 and Saturday, June 12, 2010 until 11 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor Chris Enoch officiating.
Interment will be private.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to either the American Cancer Society or the Children’s Hospital Pittsburgh, Pa.
