Richard “Rich” A. Harasty
0005882917-01-1.jpg Richard “Rich” A. Harasty, age 63, of Brownsville, PA passed away suddenly on Wednesday June 9, 2010. He was born on October 13, 1946 in Brownsville, PA, son of John and the late Mildred Harasty.
Rich was a 1964 graduate of John A. Brashear High School and later earned an Associate’s Degree in electronics from The Allegheny Technical Institute.
He worked at Westinghouse in Glen Burnie, MD as a radar specialist and with area construction companies. Most recently, Rich assisted his father in the caretaking of his Mother, Mildred Harasty, passed away last September, and continued to be the caretaker of the family home and grounds.
Rich is survived by his Father, John Harasty, Brother Kenneth Harasty and his wife, Cathleen of Clarksville (Deemston) PA, William Harasty and his wife, Lynda Harasty of Kittanning, PA.; Nephew Matthew Harasty of Richmond, VA and Nieces Amanda Harasty of Portland, OR and Kayla Longdon and Her husband, Robert of Saxonburg, PA.
Friends will be received in THE SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, PA on Saturday and Sunday from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM and on Monday until 10 AM where a funeral service will be held with the Reverend David Chin officiating.
Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
