0005883836-01-1.jpg Robert Harold “Bob” Landman of Yauger Hollow, Lemont Furnace, after a long struggle with cancer, went to be w i t h t h e L o r d o n Friday, June 11, 2010. His last moments w e r e a t h o m e with h i s loving W i f e a n d F a m i l y surrounding him. Bob was born in his home in Yauger Hollow, Fayette County, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1924.

He served in the United States Navy in World War II as a Combat Veteran on the air craft carrier the U.S.S. Cabot.

He worked his entire career for United States Steel as a Mechanic, Electrician, and Maintenance Foreman.

He was a member of Cove Run Free Methodist Church where he served as the Chairperson of the Trustees and twenty-year Sunday School Superintendent.

Bob was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

No man loved the United States as much or was as patriotic as he!

He was an avid baseball fan and always cheered for the PIttsburgh Pirates and the Laurel Highlands Mustangs.

He loved to travel across the United States and loved to go hunting.

He loved his country, his church, his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; and most of all, His Savior — Jesus.

Bob is survived by his wife Jean (Phillips) Landman of almost sixty-four years (they were married June 27, 1946) a n d t h r e e c h i l d r e n, Tom Landman (Susann) of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Monteen Barnhart (Tom) of Hopwood, Pennsylvania and Randy Landman (Dawn) of North Charleroi, Pennsylvania. There are seven grandchildren Michelle Davis (Corey), Lee Landman, Tom Barnhart III (Amanda), David Landman, Mollie Landman, Malorie Landman and Mylie Landman. There are also two great grandchildren: Reegan Davis and Tom Barnhart IV.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Chance and Bertha Mae (Yauger) Landman. All six of his sisters and brothers are deceased: Zelda Goodwin (Carl), Wendel L a n d m a n (wife Evelyn survives), Donald Landman (Eleanor), Violet Coleman (Boots), Evelyn Rosenberger (husband Ray survives), and Ruby Fields (husband Edgar survives).

In addition, he has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob will be viewed at the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pennsylvania today (Monday, June 14) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.

There will be additional viewing at COVE RUN FREE METHODIST CHURCH on Tuesday, June 15, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m, where Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m.

Services will be under the direction of the deceased’s son, Pastor Randy Landman, of Grace United Methodist Church with assistance from Rev. Eugene Cowsert, Rev. Paul Eckenrode and Rev. Roger Yeager.
