Blaze rips through Georges Twp. home

GEORGES TWP. – No one was injured when fire ripped through a Georges Township residence early Tuesday. Fayette County 911 officials said the fire was reported shortly after 2 a.m. at a home at 16 Midland St.

Volunteer fire crews from Smithfield, Fairchance and Haydentown responded to the blaze.

The Uniontown Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services responded to the fire and provided snacks and beverages to emergency personnel.

The American Red Cross also responded to the blaze and assisted one resident with food and clothing.

No one was injured as a result of the blaze.

It was not clear how the fire began.
