Gladys “Sarah” Rockwell
Gladys “Sarah” Rockwell, 62, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away on June 14, 2010 at home with her family by her side. She was born in Poland Mines, Pa. on March 10, 1948, the daughter of the late George H. and Gladys M. (Wilson) Smith.
Before retiring she was employed as a cashier in the gift shop at Coopers Rocks, Morgantown, WV. She loved to fish and spent many hours fishing the Monongahela River.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Allan Rockwell, brothers: Leroy Uphold, Larry G. Smith and Stanley R. Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Wilson A. Smith (Susan) of Moffit, Pa., Gladys M. Hlatky (John) of Smithfield, Pa., Bertha K. Richards (Timothy) of Albright, WV; grandchildren: John H. Harden, Elmer J. Harden, Felicia C. Wilson, Nathan A. Smith, Amanda D. Richards and Tiffany N. Richards; five great grandchildren; sisters: Betty Zaworaski (Ed) of Houston, TX, Mary Miller (Paul) of Albright, WV, Dora Brownfield (Bob) of Gans, Pa., Ella Mae McCourt (Mike) and Virginia Friends of Point Marion, Pa.; brothers, Harry Smith of Gans, Pa., Paul Smith (carolyn) of Westover, WV, Cecil Smith (Linda) of Uniontown, Pa., Samuel Smith of Point Marion, Pa., Jack DeBerry (Dottie) and Harold DeBerry of Albright, WV.
Family will receive friends in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., today, June 16, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday until 11 a.m. the hour of service in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Chris Clinger officiating.
Interment in Greendale Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
