Betty Jean Hamilton
0005886184-01-1.jpg Betty Jean Hamilton quietly passed this earth on June 15, 2010 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, N.C. She was born October 7, 1924 to Mary Cole and father, Merle E. Cole of Hopwood, Pa.
Formerly from Uniontown, Pa., she moved to Wilmington to be closer to her surviving children, Walter T. “Scott” McCartney III and Vickie Lee Sears, and her husband, George Dick. She leaves four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and will be sorely missed by us all, friends and family, alike
She led a full life, not only the usual golfing and bowling, but the more adventurous activities of Grand-Prix auto racing and piloting friends to Cuba in 1957. She loved Christmas, the color red and cooking especially soup and pies- which she would lovingly hand out to her family and friends.
She was retired from Uniontown Hospital where she worked in the ER as a nursing assistant. She was very compassionate and empathetic to those she cared for.
We love you Mom Your spirit will forever live in our hearts.
