Her parents, and a sister Roxanna Hart preceded her in death.

Shirley retired from the Summit Hotel Resort, where she was the Banquet Manager for 25 years. Her greatest accomplishment and most treasured gifts were her kids and grandkids. She was the most selfless and wonderful person any of us have ever known. One thing that she always made sure to tell everyone, no matter how bad her situation appeared to be was “You can’t keep a good gal down”.

She bravely fought Multiple Sclerosis for more than 30 years.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 50 years, Frank E. Softa; her daughter, Deborah Crayton and her husband Allen of Dunbar, Pa.; son, Frank Anthony “Tony” Softa and his wife Barbie of Wasilla, Alaska; 5 grandchildren, Brandi Mancini and husband D.J., Ashley Crayton and her Fiancee Aaron Lowden, and Cody Crayton; Destiny Softa, and Sydney Softa; 2 great grand-daughters; Elle Page Mancini, and Nola Rose Mancini; a brother, David Jordan and wife Johanna of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Kathy “Lenny” Little and husband Bill of Connellsville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Friday June 18, 2010 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m.; and on Saturday June 19, 2010, until 12 noon, the Hour of Service, with Pastor Gary McFadden officiating.

Private interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.

In her memory, memorial contributions may be made to the MS Association of America, 706 Haddonfield Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002; web address: msassociation.org

The family would like to express their sincere, heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Golden Living Center who took such wonderful care of her and treated her like family for the past 12 years – she loved all of you dearly.
