Zella R. Watson
0005886200-01-1.jpg Zella R.Watson 92 of Grindstone, Pa. and formerly of Rowes Run passed away peacefully on June 15, 2010 at the Donnell House in Washington, Pa. She was born on July 29, 1917, the daughter of the late Norman and Grethel (Rossell) Patterson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Vernon R. Watson; her loving son Vernon (Dick) R. Watson, Jr., her loving grandson Troy Watson, Brothers: Samuel, Luke, Ottis, Bill, Harry and Mac and Sisters: Lola, Irma, Caroline, Jane and Jean.
Zella was a member of Pleasant View Presbyterian Church.
She was a homemaker and a door to door Avon lady. She traveled with her late husband Vernon to all U.S.- states with the exception of Alaska which they were planning prior to her husband’s illness.
Zella looked forward to spring every year so she could gather all her garden containers to play in the dirt and plant the most colorful arrangements. She also enjoyed playing cards and listened to WMBS weekly to get the letters to the Name It and Claim It word game and would work diligently until it was solved.
Zella was very thankful for a close knit family and enjoyed the times she spent with everyone, she often recalled what a great life she had. Her wisdom, character and generous spirit of life will be missed by all.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving and supportive daughter, Meredith Kay and favorite son-in-law Richard Morris of Grindstone, Special Daughter in-law, Sheila Watson of Holly Hill, Florida; Brother; Jack and wife Crenda Patterson who was also her dear friend; Sisters-in-law Grace Patterson and Rita Watson Kantorik; Grateful Grandchildren Holly Amidon (Tim), Valerie Morrison (Kevin), Laura Berg (Michael).
Fortunate Great Grandchildren T.C. (Kelly), Brandon, Cassidy, Sam, Nick, Mike, Scott, Jared and Schaffer; Great – Great Grandchildren Maelynn, Teagan and Ryan and many wonderful nieces, nephews and neighbors.
Family and Friends will be received at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, PA Friday, June 18, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Saturday, June 19, 2010 until 1:00 p.m., the hour of service with the Rev. Keith Conover officiating.
Interment will follow at Pleasant View Presbyterian Cemetery
