“It was a total team effort and a short-handed win because we were short of personnel,” Mill Run’s Ray Orndorff said. “Bill gave us five strong innings and Bobby pitched well in relief. We had a few errors that didn’t hurt us and had a couple of multiple-hit innings. We were able to hold them down to get the win.”

Firestone later scored on a two-out infield error.

“We pride ourselves on playing great defense, but tonight we probably had more errors than we had all season,” GK Realty’s Steve Kezmarsky said. “I thought Cory Borland gave us an outstanding effort on the mound, but we played no defense behind him tonight. We’ll just shake this off and come back against Bud Murphy’s on Sunday.”

Mill Run added three more in the third. Warrick led off the inning with a homer. Sumner singled and stole second. Dax Fiore was safe on a fielder’s choice. Both came around to score giving Mill Run a 6-2 lead.
