New reality show
Letters to the Editor Mayor criticized
I do not appreciate getting out of my automobile at the Uniontown Senior Center to eat my lunch and smelling sewage from Redstone Creek.
I am tired of hearing Redstone Creek has been like that for years. Change that.
Uniontown Mayor Ed Fike and members of city council should know this is 2010 not 1800.
I went to see Mayor Fike three times about Redstone Creek. All I ever see is his secretary who tells me Mayor Fike is a hands-on mayor.
What does that mean?
It’s pure hog wash to me.
I have been active in the Democrat Party for over 40 years now. I have seen do-nothing mayors and do-nothing councilmen before.
The mayor and council of the City of Uniontown are worthless in my opinion. We need new people with some vigor to represent Uniontown.
I am calling on Mayor Fike and members of the Uniontown City Council to resign. They should step aside and let someone with ambition bring Uniontown back as the city once was.
We need ambitious people to guide the city of Uniontown into the future, hopefully. We should have a bright future for all the people of Uniontown, not just a select few.
I am announcing at this time I will run for mayor of the city of Uniontown in the next mayoral election.

I want to advise the people of this country about a new reality show that is on television. It is called “Who am I and what am I doing here?”
There are only two people on the show and that makes it a little boring.
The ratings are not too good so it might not be airing too long. One player is the president of the United States.
Then there is the host. Her name is Nancy Pelosi. The object of the game is for the player to do everything the host asks and the reward for that is he gets to spend the tax money of the people of this great country.
He must also go to a national disaster in the gulf coast states and stand in front of the camera eating a sno-cone on a clean beach and make a fool out of himself because the host of the show told him this is what you need to do.
The player is able to remain on the show as long as he doesn’t talk about the problems of the southern borders or try stop the flow of illegal aliens coming or try to help the great people of Arizona who are trying to stop violence and crimes caused by these illegals.
So I don’t think the show will make it for a second season. It will be voted off the air this coming November. Get out and vote wisely.

School not a garage
I am responding to a letter published in Sunday’s paper.
I dare the woman to say St. John the Evangelist School reminds her of a garage repair shop. I’ll have you know that I had nine children, several grandchildren go through St. John the Evangelist School.
They have a wonderful faculty. It is not St. John’s fault that St. Mary School closed.
I think this woman is very rude and doesn’t know what she is talking about.
I hope all the people at St. Mary School don’t feel that way.

PennDOT wrong
The road that leads from Route 51 to Route 119 while crossing Route 40 and New Salem Road is probably intended for the on and off ramps of Route 43 when it’s completed, but for now I’ll refer to it as a little beltway from Route 51 and Route 119.
This road has the most ridiculous speed limits. PennDOT probably found them on Futility.com.
Here you have a four-lane concrete highway with posted speed limits from Route 51 to Route 40 listed at 35 mph.
Now comes the real dilly. As soon as you cross Route 40 the speed limit becomes 25 mph and it still remains four concrete lanes.
Was this four-lane concrete road built for dirt bikes, bicycles, or track meets? With such posted speed limits, I’m sure most drivers would probably agree that such speed limits are much more suitable for one-lane alleys.
This is one driver that will never obey such ridiculous speed limits on four-lane concrete roads. I’ll gladly take the risk of the radar.
