Sheriff’s office issues May report

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department fielded 673 calls for service in May, including 106 complaints and summons, 32 landlord/tenant disputes and 42 protection-from-abuse cases, officials said. Department officials said officers issued 380 gun permits during the month and also served seven bench warrants. Officers said that they transported 64 prisoners during the month, traveling more than 4,300 miles. Officers said they also provided security for the Fayette County Courthouse, the Public Safety Building and performed 16 hours of community relations in May.
