Fike, G.K. Realty pick up 5-3 victory over Bud Murphy’s
G.K. Realty scored three runs in the fourth inning to pull away in a 5-3 win over Bud Murphy’s in Fayette County League action Sunday. Nate Fike (5-0) earned the win, striking out a pair and walking three batters in a complete game for G.K. Realty (7-4).
Matt Deshong took the loss for Bud’s and Brian Sankovich doubled.
Watson & Sons 8, Pasta Lorenzo 1 – Noah Pust tripled and drove in a pair of runs in a 3-for-3 game and A.J. Curtis homered with four RBI as Watson & Sons topped Pasta Lorenzo.
Chase McNut (2-0) struck out four and walked one in six innings for Watson & Sons (2-8). David Montebeller doubled and Josh Lawrence went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Rick Cales drove in the lone run for Pasta Lorenzo (5-4) and took the loss from the mound, striking out six and walking three.
Watson & Sons returns to action Thursday against Mitch’s Bail Bonds.
Mill Run 4, Blue Mountain 1 – Jason Halfhill held Blue Mountain’s bats in check as Mill Run picked up a three-run victory.
Halfhill allowed two hits over seven innings pitched. Blue Mountain’s George Taylor tripled, and scored on a balk in the seventh inning, but the rest of the afternoon belonged to the Mill Run hurler. Halfhill had four strikeouts and three walks.
Up 1-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth, Mill Run tacked on three insurance runs.
Kris Firestone walked and Rob Orndorff hit one of his three singles before Dave Sumner singled in Firestone for a 2-0 lead. Andrew Brooks’ double brought in Sumner and Orndorff for a 4-0 lead.
Sumner had two hits for Mill Run (5-5-1), who hosts GK Realty tonight.
Tyler Schrader suffered the loss for Blue Mountain. He had two strikeouts and one walk in 6 1/3 innings of work.
